Our Natural Skin Care products are hand made in small batches, with specific intention, love and care. We use only the finest oils, butters, essential oils, and herbal infusions. We believe that what we put on our bodies is as important as what we put in our bodies, and that the plants and trees around us hold the remedies for many skin conditions.
Our products are made on the North Shore of Lake Superior and can be found at select retailers in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. We hope you'll feel the joy we put into all the natural skin care products we offer.
About Our Products
There is NO animal fat, petroleum products, sodium lauryl sulfates, propylene glycol, or any harsh chemicals in any of our products.
Every spring we go to a special area in the woods nearby to wildcraft the Heal All and Plantain that we infuse in olive oil for six weeks. Through out the summer we harvest our own organically grown calendula, comfrey leaves and lavender.
Soaps:
Our soaps are individually crafted for different skin conditions and preferences. Essential oils (not fragrance oils) are used as much for their individual medicinal properties as for their clean and non irritating aromas. Our soaps are cold processed from scratch, which means the ingredients are mixed together at below 100 degrees. Eight of our soaps are made with a base including olive, coconut and palm oils. Additional nutrients (herbal infusions, essential oils and other specialty oils) are added at the end of the mixing process so that they remain more prevalent in the final bars. We use grapefruit seed extract as our preservative and for it's excellent antioxidant properties. After the soap is poured into a mold, it sits insulated with blankets for 24 hours. After cooling it is cut into bars and put on curing shelves for 2-4 weeks., and then is labeled as orders come in.
Our Northwoods Shampoo and Body Bar is a must for the summer season. This combination of oils, butters and essential oils have been proven to provide excellent protection from bug bites. Try it year round for extra dry skin and hair. All of our soaps provide excellent lathering and are wonderfully moisturizing.
Lotions
Our lotions are aloe based, with herbal ingredients that offer non- greasy deeply moisturizing properties. There are four differently scented lotions to compliment four of the soaps. We've added the same essential oils and nutrients that are found in the soaps to provide even greater moisturizing protection. Plus it helps carry the scent with you all day!
Facial Therapy
Our Wholesome Facial Therapy is aloe based and loaded with herbal nutrients. It is a great anytime moisturizer, light and non-greasy. An affordable healthy alternative for your face. Soon we'll be adding an extra moisturizing nighttime cream and an anti-aging formula.
Sweet Lips Lip Balm
Our Sweet Lips lip balm is full of the moisturizing healing oils of olive, apricot kernel, rose hip seed and calendula oils. We've added a touch of honey for it's sweetness and moisture lock. The scent and flavor of wintergreen come from Sweet Birch essential oil known for it's medicinal qualities. Excellent results have been seen with dry, cracked lips and cold sores. Comes in a 1/2 oz. pretty little blue jar which is the equivalent of more than several of the tubes.
ITCHEASE Salve
Our ITCHEASE Salve is made with wildcrafted Heal All and Plantain infused in extra virgin olive oil and beeswax. It does an excellent job on bug bites pulling out the poison and relieving the itching. We've watched mosquito bites disappear within a few minutes after application. This salve is also good for dry, cracked skin, eczema patches and more. Plantain is known in many circles as the mother of all herbs due to it's many effective applications.
